Volunteer opportunities: Stefanie said the residents love to visit with students. Students may help with activities, play card games with residents, read to residents or plan a simple activity of their own to share with the residents.

St. Mary’s Center

Volunteer opportunities: Lunches are served daily and a Winter Shelter is planned for December through April. Nightly dinners are needed for 25 adults during the Winter Shelter months.
Contact Sister Marilyn if you are interested in volunteering for the daily lunch program or the Winter Shelter dinners. Sunday dinners are prepared and served every Sunday afternoon to approximately 100 adults. St. Isidore and St. Joan of Arc parishes participate in the Sunday dinner program.

Loaves and Fishes needs volunteers to help prepare food that will be delivered to their dining rooms. Students must be accompanied by 1 adult for every 2 students. There are 6 volunteers per shift. The shifts are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-2:00pm. The shifts may be split up 8:00am-11:00am and 11:00am- 2:00pm. Requirements for volunteers: Hair must be tied back, no shorts, no tank tops and tennis shoes are recommended, no sandals.
Volunteers are needed:
The 1st Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every month.
The 2nd Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of every month.
The 4th Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of every month.
This is a great way for families to volunteer together

Challenger Baseball:
|

Volunteer opportunities: Challenger Baseball sets up teams of mentally and physically challenged youth so they may enjoy the benefits of playing on a sports team with their peers. Volunteers act as buddies for the youth during a baseball game. Volunteers can push a wheelchair, help hit or catch a ball or help run the bases, depending on the ability of their buddy. About 12 volunteers are needed for each game. Games are every Sunday, March through June and are played at Dublin Sports Grounds.

Special Olympics:

The Special Olympics provides year round sports training for mentally and physically challenged children
and adults.
Volunteer opportunities: Volunteers escort and encourage athletes in a variety of sports including basketball, bowling or tract and field. Special Olympics have volunteer orientations throughout the year.
