Mr. McGuire
A Little Bit About Us:
Physical EducationThe Physical Education Department at St. Isidore School hopes to open the eyes of the youth and get them to understand the importance of active participation through Physical Education. Both Physical Educators will reinforce the concepts of teamwork, fair play, proper manners, and sportsmanship through a number of individual, dual, and team activities. There will also be interdisciplinary lessons taught throughout the year that will explore the muscular and bone structure of the human body.
Each class led by Mr. McGuire will begin with cardiovascular work, stretching, coordination and strengthening exercises. Activities during the school year include football, softball, volleyball, hockey, basketball, paddleball, kickball, badminton, ultimate Frisbee, and capture the flag.
The Kindergarten class will be exposed to perceptual motor skills activities and a variety of playground or court games.
The 1st and 2nd grade classes will be introduced to playground and court games with an emphasis on cooperation and fair play. They will be introduced to team sports such as hockey, and soccer occasionally.
The 3rd through 8th grade classes will start with cardiovascular work, stretch, and immediately get into an activity or team sport.
The monthly sports activities for January will include basketball, soccer, and hockey activities. The Perceptual Motor program for Kindergarten is in full swing. Thank you to all the parents, who help make this program such a success.
