LIBRARY

The St. Isidore School Library is home to over 21,000 books dedicated to our TK through 8th grade students. This diverse collection of books is designed to meet the educational, curricular, informational, and recreational needs of St. Isidore School.

The library is open to all students from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm and has a full-time librarian. In addition, each class has a scheduled time to visit the library weekly. The library is fully automated and provides seven computers for student use. During the students' library time, we focus on individual research, reading needs, selecting appropriate books, library skills, story time and silent reading. Our goal for the students at St. Isidore is to instill a love of reading so that our students will become life-long readers.

Students set individual reading goals (usually by trimester) with their teachers, select a book they would like to read, and read at their own pace. Teachers can monitor student progress and give recommendations on ideal books for individual reading levels. Those books are available at the library. Parents are encouraged to visit the library with their child/ children after school, from 3:00-3:30. The librarian is available to answer questions and support students with great book suggestions. The librarian is available to provide support and materials for research projects as well.
