Middle school literature engages the whole reader. Using the reading workshop model, students learn explicit reading strategies to help them become better readers. Spelling and vocabulary practices are intertwined in class novels and literary essays. In literature class, students gain vast knowledge about reading strategies to enhance their love of reading.
