Math
In Middle School Math at St. Isidore School, we aim to deliver a curriculum that engages and educates students, while also helping them to apply mathematical concepts to the real world in their daily lives. In learning these concepts, we desire that our students come to master the practices of problem solving, persevering, abstract and quantitative reasoning and modeling while adhering to precise standards, noticing patterns, using appropriate tools and maintaining consistency in their approach. We know that math can be challenging, but it is our hope that our students will come to enjoy the challenge, and recognize the intellectual and personal growth that accompany the learning process. Though our top priority is to ensure that our students have a strong grasp of the topics mentioned below, we also strive to foster an interest in mathematics that will carry them through not only this year, but their many years of mathematical learning to come.
6th Grade curriculum covers Number Systems, Ratios and Proportions, Expressions and Equations to Geometry, Statistics and Probability.
7th Grade curriculum covers Number Systems, Ratios and Proportions, Expressions and Equations to Probability and Geometry, in which we learn to draw, construct and describe the figures.
